Store bought things are a big NO NO! You should be creative and make something of your own! So i decided to help you guys and give you a recipe for a Father's Day Cake!
YELLOW CAKE
2 cups cake flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter (softened
1 cup sugar
3 eggs (room temp.)
2 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup of milk (room temp.)
Two 9-inch cake pans
- Heat Oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray the two 9-inch cake pans with non-stick cooking spray.
- Sprinkle a little amount of flour on the cake pans and move around so it takes up the whole pan.
- In a medium sized bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt then stir with a whisk in till blended.(this is your flour mixture)
- Put the butter and sugar in a stand mixer and beat them for medium high speed for 5 minutes in till there light and fluffy.
- Then add the eggs one at a time, mix for a full minute after adding the eggs.
- Then stop the stand mixer and add in the vanilla extract, Mix in till incorporated Stop then add 3/4 of the flour mixture mix in till the flour mixture has disappeared.
- Next add the milk and add half of the flour mixture. Mix in till incorporated. Then give it a quick stir before putting it into the pans.
- Then Pour the cake batter into the pans and smooth it out and put it in the oven for 25 minutes, or in till they turn golden brown.
- Cool the cakes down for 5 minutes the run a knife around the cakes then carefully invert them onto a cooling rack Let them cool completely then frost them and stack on top!
- Write a poem for dad on top of the cake! -SUMMER!
